A proven winner with deep roots in South Carolina high school soccer, Setzler steps into the head role bringing an elite championship pedigree and a decade of varsity head coaching experience to the Gators' sideline. Coach Setzler expressed incredible honor and excitement to take the reins of the River Bluff men’s soccer program. Stepping into a program with a proud tradition of excellence, his goal is to build a culture where student-athletes can thrive competitively on the pitch while developing the character and discipline to succeed in life long after they leave the program. A Proven Track Record of Success With 10 years of experience leading high school programs in the state, Coach Setzler arrives at River Bluff boasting a stellar overall career record of 131-58-12 (.682). Known for building dominant, disciplined teams, Setzler has spent the last seven seasons transforming the Blythewood program into a powerhouse, culminating in back-to-back 1st-place region finishes in 2025 and 2026. Over the last two seasons alone, Coach Setzler guided the Bengals to an incredible 37-6-2 combined record. The championship resume speaks for itself: Championship Pedigree: Captured 6 Region Championships across three different high schools (Blythewood, Gilbert, and Brookland-Cayce). Elite Leadership: Named Region Coach of the Year 3 times by his peers. All-Star Recognition: Selected as the North Assistant Coach for the prestigious North-South Soccer Classic in 2024. Intra-Region Dominance: Holds a career region record of 65-17 (.793), meaning his teams have won nearly 80% of their critical region matchups. Commitment to Excellence Robby Setzler has consistently proven an ability to maximize talent and navigate tough competitive landscapes.
