Baseball: Gators and Trojans Play Deciding Game 3 for Lower State Championship on Saturday

River Bluff and James Island will meet for a deciding game three on Saturday at James Island Charter High School to crown the SCHSL AAAAA-Division I Lower State baseball champs. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.

So far, the home team has held serve. The Trojans took game one at James Island on the back of five homeruns, 10-4. River Bluff stormed back from nine down on its home turf to win game two in dramatic fashion, 11-10.

The winner of Saturday's contest will advance to the AAAAA-Division I State Championship series, which begins Tuesday, May 26. The Lower State champ will face Dorman, who beat Spartanburg in two games to win the Upper State crown.

Gator fans, if you are making the trip down to James Island on Saturday, expect a crowd. While there are stands for visitors, there is also room down the third base line for lawn chairs and for those who just can't sit during a game.
