When River Bluff women's cross country team's head coach Cameron Starr said he was proud of how his team competed on Saturday, he was most likely referring to a combination of observations from the Great American XC Festival at Cary, NC.
"We had to overcome some early morning adversity," said Starr, "and race on a very challenging course against some of the top schools on the East Coast." His Gators finished 8th in the Girls Blue 5k Race, which featured 52 teams and 400 runners.

Gator senior Savannah Davis finished in 8th place with a time of 19:02.2. Four Gator runners finished in the top 100.
"We have a lot of positives we can take away from the experience that will make us better in the meets to come," concluded Coach Starr. There are very few of those remaining. The Gators have two more meets before the Region 4-AAAAA championship on Wednesday, October 22nd.
