Women's Tennis: Gators Sit Atop Region with 4 Matches Remaining

River Bluff's women's tennis team is currently undefeated in Region 4-AAAAA with four region matches to go in the regular season.

In a highly anticipated matchup with Lexington on Tuesday, the Gators gave the Wildcats their first region loss 5-1. Lexington’s only win in the contest was the 1-singles match between Hannah Holt (Sr.) and Keira Campbell (So.). Holt won the match for the Wildcats 6-2, 6-1.
The Gators swept the other five matches.
Gracie Driskill (Fr.) defeated Andi Gore (8th) 6-3, 6-3 in the 2-singles match. In the 3-singles battle between seniors, Lauren Kim defeated Maggie Secoy 6-3, 7-5. Paola Silva (Jr.) bested Addi Evans (Fr.) 6-3, 6-1 in the 4-singles match, and in 5-singles, Aine Kim (Jr.) beat Gabie Berresford (So.) 6-1, 7-5. The doubles match went to the Gators 6-1, 6-1.

On Thursday, River Bluff celebrated senior night by making quick work of the White Knoll Timberwolves 6-0. Adjusting the lineup to accommodate all of its seniors, River Bluff earned its season sweep of White Knoll while only losing 9 games in the latest match.
Playing at 1-singles, senior Lauren Kim blanked sophomore Hailey Watts 6-0, 6-0. Senior Emma Gibson moved into the 2-singles role and defeated sophomore Amelia Thorvaldson 6-1, 6-0. Senior Zaina Dutton fought off sophomore Bryce Shriner 6-2, 6-4. The only non-senior in the match for the Gators, junior Sarah Parker Delk, took down senior Eli Miller 6-2, 6-0 at 4-singles. In the 5-singles match, senior Caroline Hethcox beat freshman Khloe Mosley 6-0, 6-0.

River Bluff will face Irmo on the road on Tuesday and Chapin at home on Thursday to wrap up their regular season series with both teams.
