River Bluff 4, Blythewood 2

The Lady Gators picked up their first win of the season in Alligator Alley with a 4-2 win over visiting Blythewood. The match started well for the Lady Gators, who took the first sets on five of the six courts. The Lady Bengal Tigers showed their grit, however, to force a third set on three of those courts. The Gators were able to finish off two of the three sets with Paola Silva winning a third set at #4 singles, and the #2 Doubles team of Emma Gibson and Blythe Hoey also winning in three sets. Combine that with straight-set wins from Keria Campbell and Gracie Driskill at #1 and #2 singles, allowing the Gators to secure the match. The lone first set loss for the Gators saw Aine Kim at #5 singles show some grit of her own to win a second set to force a third set on her court.

The win moves the Gators to 1-1 on the year.

The JV were also winners on the night with a 5-1 win on the road at Blythewood to move to 2-0 on the year.

The Gators return to Alligator Alley on Wednesday to host South Aiken.
