River Bluff showcased both offensive firepower and defensive dominance, shutting out Dutch Fork 5-0 in a commanding women's soccer victory on Friday night in The Swamp. The Gators' defense locked down the field, securing a clean sheet to complement the five-goal surge.
The scoring started for the Gators five minutes into the match, when Brooke Ogorek notched the first of two goals on an assist from Summer Rios.
Ogorek would play the helper next, when Belle Bryant received her pass and sent home a winner to give the Gators a 2-0 lead with 13 minutes to go in the first half.
Summer Rios picked up her second assist on a precise cross to Anna Allen with nine minutes remaining in the half to put the Gators up 3-0.
With five minutes to go before halftime, Ogorek would score again on a solo shot to give River Bluff a commanding 4-0 lead. But the Gators weren't quite done.
Brooke Walter got in on the scoring action just two minutes later to put home team up 5-0, which is how the scoreboard would sit for the remainder of the game.
Addison Slinkard and the stifling backline of River Bluff earned another shutout.
The Gators remain undefeated in region play at 4-0 and improve to 8-1-2 overall.
