Women's Soccer: Gators Down Stratford 4-0 to Open Playoffs

River Bluff's women's soccer team opened their postseason with a 4-0 victory over Stratford Tuesday night in The Swamp.

But, it took a while for the goals to come for the Gators. Over a half, actually.

Stratford seemed to be happy forgoing much, if any, offense as long as they could keep the Gators off the scoreboard. The strategy worked for a little over a half.

Then, with 30 minutes to go in the match, Anna Allen broke the seal off an assist from Brooke Ogorek, giving the Gators a 1-0 lead.

The floodgates opened after that.

Allen scored her second goal five minutes later with help from Abby Stiles.

Bela Charriez found Brooke Walter just two minutes later, who scored to put River Bluff up 3-0.

With 14 minutes to play, the last goal would come from Charriez on Ogorek's second assist of the evening, making the final score 4-0.

The win sends River Bluff to the second round of the SCHSL AAAAA-Division I Lower State playoffs, where they will meet West Ashley on the road on Friday, May 8.
