Women's Golf: Huang Wins Region IV Qualifier as River Bluff Takes Second

River Bluff women's golfer Kelly Huang shot the low round, and the Gators finished second in Tuesday's Region IV-AAAAA Qualifier tournament held at Timberlake Country Club. River Bluff placed three golfers in the top five. Following right behind Huang, who shot a 72 to win the tourney, was Charli Heaton in a second-place tie with a 74. Merritt Wham shot a 78 to finish in a tie for fourth. Emery Jones and Grace Shelly completed the scoring for River Bluff, who finished just two strokes behind Lexington.

The Gators and Wildcats have battled back and forth throughout the season and will likely continue to challenge each other through the postseason, which starts Monday, October 20, at the AAAAA-Division I Lower State Championship held at Wedgefield Country Club.
