Volleyball: River Bluff Sweeps West Ashley 3-0, Hosts James Island in 3rd Round on Wednesday

River Bluff opened its postseason with a 3-0 shutout of the seventh-seeded West Ashley Wildcats on Monday night in The Chomp House. After a first-round bye, the Gators, seeded as the number two team in the AAAAA-Division I Lower State bracket, responded to a close 25-20 first-set win with a dominating 25-10 second-set victory. Then, after allowing the Wildcats to come back and tighten the margin in the third set, River Bluff closed out the match with a 25-21 win.

Senior Caroline Tucker led the scoring for River Bluff with 18 kills, and her senior teammate Alexis Jodie contributed a whopping 38 assists for the match.

The win advances the Gators to the third round, where they will host the three-seed James Island on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. That match will be in The Chomp House at River Bluff.
