River Bluff's volleyball team follows up a 4-3 record at Dorman's Tournament of Champions this past weekend with a big region match against Lexington tonight in The Swamp.
The match has been deemed a blackout for the Gator faithful.
A knockout is what River Bluff looked like they might accomplish a few days ago in Dorman, as the Gators jumped out to three quick shutouts to start the weekend tournament. After wins against Aiken and Cardinal Newman on Friday, and Daniel on Saturday morning, River Bluff fell, however, to eventual champions Nation Ford 2-1. They turned right around after that loss and suffered another at the hands of Wando 2-0.
The Gators returned to their winning ways in their next match, defeating Pickens 2-0, but fell in a rematch against Cardinal Newman 2-1 to close out the tournament.
River Bluff dropped only 6 sets during the two-day event, while winning 10. All of their wins were shutouts.
The Gators (18-10) look to up their region record to 5-0 as they take on Lexington on Tuesday. The JV match begins at 5:30, and varsity will take the floor immediately following. River Bluff students will be admitted for free with student ID.
