River Bluff doubled South Aiken in hits 10-5 Wednesday night, but couldn't put enough runs together to defeat the Thoroughbreds, falling at home 9-5.

South Aiken put an eight-spot on the board in the top of the first inning. After that, the Gators held them to just one run in the fifth. River Bluff, however, could not put enough offense together in one inning, spreading out hits and stranding baserunners across the first five innings, managing one run in the third. Then, in the fourth, the Gators rallied and added four more runs, but that would be it on the night.

Annslee Crumpton started in the circle for River Bluff but only lasted a third of the inning, surrendering six runs (6 earned) on one hit. Meghan Tucker came on in relief and pitched a solid six and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs (1 earned) on four hits and striking out three.
