Softball: Gators Sweep Broome in Doubleheader

River Bluff closed out its regular season by taking two in Wednesday's doubleheader on the road at Broome.

Annslee Crumpton was solid in the circle for the Gators in game 1, giving up a run and a hit, while striking out six, earning a complete game win.

Alexis Jodie and Emerson Donley led the way at the plate, collecting two hits apiece, while Blythe Sanders drove in two runs.

Game two was more of the same from River Bluff, with more Gators involved in the scoring. Each of the five hits recorded by River Bluff came from different Gators, while all nine runs were scored by different Gator hitters as well. Jodie led with three runs batted in and a triple. Sanders also recorded a triple.

Jodie pitched a complete game, surrendering just one run on a hit and striking out six.

Next up for River Bluff is the SCHSL AAAAA-Division I Playoffs, which start May 4. The Gators are hoping for a bye which would push their first pitch of the postseason to May 6.
