Softball: Gators Stay Unbeaten in Region with 5-3 Win Over Chapin

River Bluff took down Chapin 5-3 on Monday night at home to move to 3-0 in Region IV-AAAAA.

After going up 1-0 in the second inning, the Gators gave up three runs to Chapin in the fourth. In their half of that inning, however, River Bluff grabbed the lead right back by scoring three runs of their own. It would prove all the Gators would need to secure the win. Still, River Bluff added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth, resulting in a 5-3 win.

Alexis Jodie picked up the win for River Bluff, allowing 3 runs (0 earned) on just 3 hits over 7 innings, striking out 8 Eagle batters. Jodie also led the team in runs batted in with two.

The Gators have two more home games this week. On Wednesday, River Bluff will step outside of region play as they host South Aiken. Then, on Friday, the Gators will look to stay unbeaten in the region when Dutch Fork comes to River Bluff.
