Softball: Gators Fall Hard to Pelion 23-7

River Bluff could not contain the offensive onslaught by Pelion on Wednesday night at home, giving up 23 runs on 22 hits and falling to the Panthers 23-7.
The Panthers had two big inning rallies. In the third, up 4-2, Pelion scored nine runs. And then, in the fifth, they added seven more.
River Bluff's Alexis Jodie gave a valiant effort at the plate, going 3-for-3 with with 3 runs, 3 RBI, and a homerun.
Starting pitcher Annslee Crumpton went 2.2 innings for River Bluff, giving up 8 earned runs on 11 hits. Mahogany Cromer came on in relief and surrendered 15 runs (9 earned) on 11 hits and striking out 2 over 2.1 innings.

The Gators will travel to White Knoll for a makeup game on Thursday, March 19. JV starts at 5:30 p.m. and varsity will follow at 7:15 p.m. Then, the varsity squad will go to Irmo on Friday for a 6 p.m. game.
