Softball: Gators Dominate Irmo 14-1 on Senior Night

River Bluff completed the sweep of Irmo this season with a 14-1 victory in four innings on Tuesday night at home. For the two-game series, River Bluff outscored Irmo 34-5.
Seniors Gabby Fryer, Blaire Gillcrese, Lexie Jodie, Ava Grace Perry, Caroline Tucker, and Meghan Tucker were recognized before the game. As has been the case all season and seasons prior, these players made significant impacts on the outcome of the game.
Jodie was the lone pitcher, going four innings and surrendering just one run (0 earned) on two hits while striking out five. Jodie also picked up two hits, including a double, a run batted in, and a run at the plate.
Fryer was one-for-one, scoring a run and driving in another run. Gillcrese was one-for-one as well, with a triple, an RBI , and three runs. Perry drove in a run. Caroline Tucker recorded a double and two runs batted in, in addition to scoring a run. Her sister Meghan also got a double and a run batted in, and scored twice.
Sophomore Mo Cromer led the way for the Gators with five RBI, crossing the plate twice herself.
The Gators turn right back around and travel to Pelion on Wednesday, looking to avenge an earlier season loss to the Panthers. JV starts at 5 p.m. and varsity follows around 7 p.m.
