River Bluff closed out the Capital City Cup with a commanding 3-1 win over A.C. Flora, finishing the tournament 2-1 and putting together one of their most complete performances of the young season.

Sophomore Henry Kuhn opened the scoring in the 8th minute for his second goal of the year, rewarding River Bluff’s early pressure. Kuhn wasn’t done. In the 13th minute, he slipped a pass back to senior captain Holden Carruthers, who calmly finished for his first goal of the season to double the advantage.

Out of the halftime break, sophomore Harper Vazquez pushed the lead to 3-0, giving River Bluff full control of the match.

A.C. Flora’s lone goal came on a second-half penalty kick after the Gators had already built the three-goal cushion.

BY THE NUMBERS
River Bluff dictated play from start to finish:
Shots: 13-4 advantage
Corner Kicks: 8-2 advantage

The numbers reflect what was evident on the field — constant pressure, attacking intent, and defensive organization. The Gators consistently won second balls, forced turnovers in dangerous areas, and created sustained chances through wide play and set pieces.

Kuhn’s performance stood out, contributing a goal and an assist while driving the attack throughout the contest. The Gator defensive unit continues to play strong by limiting their opponents opportunities as the Falcons totaled just four shots in the 80 minutes of action.

Up next: River Bluff will host West Ashley on Tuesday. The Varsity Girls kickoff at 6:00 and the Boys will follow up with a 7:30 scheduled kick.
