The River Bluff men’s lacrosse team stormed into Dutch Fork on Monday evening and defeated the Silver Foxes 13-6. The Gators dominated Dutch Fork early and built a 13-1 lead by halftime. This gave River Bluff head coach Chris Register an opportunity to play a lot of his players in the second half, providing valuable minutes to those who don't typically get much game time experience. The Silver Foxes managed five goals in the second half, but the match was well in-hand early for the Gators.
The leading scorer of the game was Banks Smith with five goals and two assists, totaling seven points on the night. Other top River Bluff scorers were Kyle Jenkins and Jackson Register, both with three, and Olson Smith with two. Michael Shields went 18-for-18 on faceoffs. In fact, the Silver Foxes began getting face off violations on purpose to prevent Shields from starting fastbreaks off of the face offs.
The Gators will face Spring Valley at home in The Swamp on Thursday, March 5th, at 7:45 pm.
