Men's Golf: Gators Have 4-Stroke Lead After Round 1 of State Championship

River Bluff's men's golf team is one round away from a repeat as State Champions in AAAAA-Division I.

But it's certainly no "gimme" at this point.

The Gators hold a four-stroke lead over James Island and a nine-stroke lead over Lexington after the tourney's opening round at Shaftesbury Glen Golf and Fish Club in Conway, SC.

River Bluff's first-round lead is due in part to Howie Vroon and Maddox McCamy, who both finished with three-under 69s.

Dorman's Will Ruth and Lexington's Jackson Penney currently lead the field at four-under.

The final round takes place on Tuesday with tee times starting at 8 a.m.
