Baseball: Gators Sweep Wando with 12-5 Win, Take on Carolina Forest on Saturday

The River Bluff bats caught fire for the best-of-three series against Wando to start the Gators' SCHSL AAAAA-Division I baseball playoff run. In a two-game sweep of the Warriors, the Gators outscored their opponent 25-8 and outhit them 28-16.
The Gators offensive output in Tuesday's game two was highlighted by Walker Godwin's three-run homer in the third inning and Mac Raines' two-run blast in the sixth.
Starter Ray Kastner earned the win, giving up five runs (one earned) on seven hits over five and two-thirds innings, while striking out seven. Walker Godwin gave up one hit in one inning of relief. Peyton Hewitt returned to the mound after a two-week absence due to an injury and got the final out for the Gators.

The number seven seed River Bluff Gators will now travel to second-seeded Carolina Forest on Saturday to start the District Four double elimination round of the Lower State Playoffs.
