Baseball: Gators Rally Late to Upend Chapin 2-1

In another tight pitching duel with Chapin, River Bluff scored a run in the bottom of the fifth and sixth to earn a 2-1 win Thursday night at home. The victory evened the weekly series with the Eagles at one apiece.
In the bottom half of the sixth inning with the score tied at one, Sam Turner walked and Peyton Hewitt came on as a courtesy runner. Mac Raines then sacrificed Hewitt over to second. Mason Iser singled a line drive to center field, scoring Hewitt and putting the Gators up 2-1. Chapin was unable to manufacture a run in the top half of the ninth giving River Bluff the win.
Ray Kastner started on the mound for River Bluff, pitching 2 and 2/3 scoreless innings, giving up 5 hits and striking out 1. Peyton Hewitt picked up the win in relief, surrendering 1 run on just 2 hits and striking out 7 over 4 and 1/3 innings.
