Baseball: Gators Fall to Dorman 7-6 on 7th Inning Walkoff

River Bluff entered the bottom half of the seventh inning of Tuesday's Forest Acres Classic game against top-ranked Dorman up a run 6-5 only to see the Cavaliers rally to score two runs to win the game 7-6.
Dorman jumped out to an early lead, scoring two runs in the first. Then, in the top of the third, Ab Wilkerson scored for the Gators on an error to make the score 2-1.
The Cavaliers added three more runs in the bottom half of the third to extend their lead to 5-1.
In the fourth, Mason Iser singled. Mac Raines ripped a line drive to left field, safely reaching first and moving Iser to second. Ab Wilkerson was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Andrew Rye hit a one-out sacrifice fly to center, bringing home Iser to make the score 5-2. Then, Banks Alexander hit a double to left field, scoring Raines and and Wilkerson, getting the Gators within one, 5-4. Dominick Norton tied the game on a hard hit grounder to center, scoring Alexander. After four innings, the score was tied 5-5.
In the fifth, the Gators added a sixth run when Ashley Powell laid down a sacrifice to the pitcher, scoring Walker Godwin from third.
Dorman would come back in the bottom of the seventh on a single, a sacrifice, and a double to tie the game at six. Then, with two outs and a man on second and third, Dorman would score the winning run on a fly ball to the center field wall.
Ray Kastner started on the mound for River Bluff, going three and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on five hits, and striking out four. In relief, Payton Hewitt pitched three innings and surrendered two runs on five hits, striking out four.

River Bluff will face TC Roberson out of North Carolina on Wednesday for day three of the Forest Acres Classic. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m.
