Baseball: Gators Drop Playoff Game to Carolina Forest 3-0

Despite outhitting Carolina Forest 4-3 in Saturday's District Four game in the Lower State bracket of the SCHSL AAAAA-Division I Playoffs, River Bluff could not manage a run in a tight defensive battle won by the Panthers 3-0.
Peyton Hewitt, coming off an injury, got his first start in weeks and pitched a solid two scoreless innings for RIver Bluff, giving up just one hit and striking out two. Ashley Powell cam onin relief and went three innings, surrendering no hits and an unearned run while striking out two. Walker Godwin finished the game, throwing for an inning and giving up two runs on two hits while striking out one.

With the loss to the second seed Carolina Forest, the seven seed Gators will now face the number three seed Lexington Wildcats on Monday. That game will be played at Lexington High School on Monday night.
