Baseball: Gators Down White Knoll in 9-0 Shutout

River Bluff scored three runs in the first inning of their Thursday night home game against White Knoll.

They only needed one.

Three Gator pitchers - Ray Kastner, Peyton Hewitt, and Leo Zambrano - combined to throw a three-hit shutout, and River Bluff crossed the plate nine times to give the Gators a 9-0 win over the visiting Timberwolves.

With the win, River Bluff swept the 2-game series with White Knoll to start region play.

Kastner picked up the win for the Gators, allowing just 3 hits and striking out 8 over 5 innings. Hewitt and Zambrano threw one hitless and scoreless inning each in relief.

River Bluff will play on Saturday at home against Mid-Carolina. The varsity team will start things off at 11 a.m., followed by the JV team at 1:30 and the B-team at 3:30 p.m.
