Baseball: Gators Beat Wando in Five, 13-3, to Win Game 1

River Bluff scored in every inning, including a six-run first, to defeat Wando 13-3 in five innings in Monday night's game one of the SCHSL AAAAA-Division I Playoffs.
River Bluff set the tone early, scoring six runs in the first inning. The Gators then spread out seven more runs over the next four innings, while holding Wando to a total of three runs. Eight of the ten Gators who recorded at-bats got at least one hit. The Gators' offensive onslaught resulted in a ten-run-rule win after five innings.
Starter Dalton Corley picked up the win. The senior pitched three innings, giving up one run on three hits and striking out three. Cooper Calhoun pitched two solid innings in relief, surrendering two runs on five hits.

The Gators will travel to Wando on Tuesday for game two of the best-of-three series. If the Gators can manage a win, they will advance to play Carolina Forest on Saturday. With a loss on Tuesday, game three will take place at River Bluff on Thursday, with the winner traveling to Carolina Forest on Saturday.
